Brandon graduated July 2016 with a BA in Public Administration, assisted with scholarship money from the Global5K.
He has worked with the Uganda Prison service for 13 years. Even as he attended University, he worked in the evenings. He is married with 2 children; his wife also works with Uganda Prison service.
When asked how his education has informed his worklife, he shared that he feels more equipped to look at systemic issues in the prison system. He has brought proposals to his supervisors including management tools like performance reviews, and sociological interests like studying why military men desert the army.
He says that he has considered further studies in his field, perhaps public policy, or even a somewhat bold transition to a Masters in Divinity as he has always had gifts as a preacher and finds ministry compelling.
Brandon said he has valued the Honours College experience for many things, including the mentorship program where he meets with a faculty member regularly for guidance and counsel.
