In light of the global pandemic COVID-19, AFM is taking the following measures to ensure the safety of our volunteers, staff, and CCWs. Effective immediately, all in-person gatherings for AFM such as our prayer meetings, Board of Directors meetings, and any other planned gatherings will be held virtually. Additionally, we are in contact with each of our Cross-cultural workers (CCWs) overseas to coordinate evacuations where necessary and safety measures for those who remain.

On Monday, March 16 we closed our office and each staff person began working virtually. We will continue to monitor our phones regularly, check our emails. and rely on information from the CDC and WHO in determining when to re-open our office As always, our primary response to any crisis, including the COVID-19 pandemic, is prayer. We encourage all of our AFM family to join us in prayer for safety and protection.

“Most Gracious Heavenly Father, we give You thanks that our lives are in Your hands. In light of Your great love, we pray for mercy from the COVID-19 pandemic that is sewing fear, sickness, and death in our world. We pray for healing for those who are sick and protection for those who are not. We pray for special grace over healthcare providers, that they would remain well and strong in the face of this illness. We pray for the elderly, those with compromised immune systems, and all who are at greatest risk of this virus. We put our hope in You alone, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Psalm 121 offers us a timely promise of the goodness of God. As we continue to monitor the news of COVID-19, we rest in the confidence that we are watched over by a loving God.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.
