The Door is Open, The Time is Now

“I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”
Revelations 3:8

One of our fellow missionaries, a man named Paul, endured hunger, thirst, exposure, stoning, beatings, lashings and shipwreck for the cause of Christ. He lived in a splendid time for the proclamation of the gospel. So do we.

As geopolitical quakes shake the world, Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus are caught up in a tide of mass migrations across borders, rivers and oceans. Millions of unreached people, many of them isolated and afraid, have washed up on foreign shores – in places where we can share Jesus Christ with them freely and openly. More arrive daily. Praise His holy Name!

And physical boundaries are not the only old lines being crossed. Seekers of the one true God can now investigate without constraints of class, caste, tribe, religion and family hierarchies that bound their parents. At the same time, in ways unimaginable a generation ago, technology allows us to feed them with the life-saving truth of the Holy Bible in the privacy of their own rooms.

A quarter-century ago, AFM sprang forth from a passion to spread the gospel, in obedience to our Lord’s command, to the ends of the earth. As we celebrate 25 years of God’s faithfulness, we look back with deep gratitude at what’s been accomplished on the mission field because of people like you who have a heart for the Great Commission. And we look forward to what God will do this year as we launch our Silver Anniversary Campaign, The Door is Open, The Time is Now, with a goal of $250,000. God has laid the following three focal points upon the hearts of AFM’s Board of Directors:

  1. Raising Up More Laborers ($120,000)
With our Lord’s help, AFM will recruit 15 missionaries by the end of 2020 to send to countries where the need is the most desperate. We must reach the unreached. Funds raised through this campaign will enable us to recruit, train, equip, and support more missionaries and to educate the church about its need to engage in frontier missions.
  1. Refreshing our Missionaries ($50,000)
AFM will conduct a member care conference in September 2019 to minister to our missionaries’ emotional, familial, educational and spiritual needs. This means bringing every worker to the U.S. Our missionaries are in countries with little or no Christian presence, often in a stressful political environment and isolated from all Christian community. Caring for our people who are sacrificing for the cause of Christ is critical, both for them and for our mission.
  1. Reaching the frontiers in new ways ($80,000)
AFM will use campaign funds to continue to reach unreached peoples, including Muslims in Nigeria and the unreached peoples in Western Africa, a major spiritual battleground. Under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, AFM will also use these funds to research and then implement strategies to make disciples among the refugees in Europe and the Middle East.

You’ll be hearing more about this campaign throughout the year. For now, we invite you to begin praying for these goals, and to join us in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, March 23, for our Silver Anniversary Service. (To register, and for more information, click here.) We’ll be celebrating 25 years of God’s faithfulness to his promises and re-committing ourselves to the Great Commission.

As the world becomes darker, more turbulent, and more unpredictable, we have unprecedented opportunity to share Christ, make disciples. and plant churches among historically unreached peoples. The Door is Open, The Time is Now.

As we enter 2019, we invite you to join us.
